Retired BC Provincial Court Judge Writes Book

Glen Baker was born in Victoria BC, raised in North Vancouver and graduated with a law degree from the University of  British Columbia. Glens 25 year law practice covered White Rock, Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. On September 18th, 1980 Glen was appointed as a Provincial Court Judge. After serving for 20 years Glen retired.

Not long after his retirement Glen started writing his first mystery book. That one book evolved into a trilogy. It’s obvious that Glens knowledge as a lawyer and judge has influenced him into being a very good mystery writer. His writings reflect that knowledge as it weaves its way through the pages.

Renaissance Publishers & Art is very excited about publishing this first book of an upcoming trilogy. This book shrouded in mystery, will be available to the public January 2012

A 125 Year Historical Firefighting Book!

Renaissance Publishers is working very creatively with the “Vancouver Firefighting Historical Society” in publishing a landmark book on the 125 years of apparatuses used by Vancouver’s bravest.

We have begun to lay this book out, and for us here at Renaissance Publishers . . . it has become an exciting project!

It will be the most comprehensive book of its kind for Vancouver. The collection of historical documents and the collection of  historical photos are absolutely stunning!

This book will definitely be a collectors piece!

“Renaissance” Completely Overhauled Our Website!

I just wanted to express my thoughts regarding the recent changes to our website done by Rick at Renaissance Publishing. Actually, they were more than just changes… it was a complete overhaul. Rick was really able to see our vision and capture it on the screen so we are particularly happy with the way that Rick interpreted that when at times we weren’t 100% sure of what we wanted. The visuals really pop from the screen and the layout was simple and easy to navigate. We’ve had quite a few compliments already from both existing customers and new ones. In fact our lead flow has increased even after the short time the new site has been running and we don’t expect that to change because of the way Rick optimized each page and category. One of the major reasons for going with Renaissance was Rick’s art background. We knew right away that he knew more than just the technical aspects but also what’s pleasing to look at as well when it comes to a website.
